At BigBlackHen.com we have been enthusiastic supporters of Welwyn Garden City’s favourite charity – The Isabel Hospice – since we opened our virtual doors in Hertfordshire over four years ago. We believe that as a local business it important to put something back into the community, which is why we get involved in fundraising, and also why we donate £25 for every house that we sell. It doesn’t sound like much but it soon adds up – here is me presenting a cheque for £1,150 for the 46 houses we sold in 2014, up from the £1,050 we donated in 2013. Add in the over £4,000 raised by trekking in Peru and we added over £5,000 to the Isabel Hospice coffers last year. And that money will be put to great use helping those with terminal illness and their families at such a difficult time.
